MovieUpdates Startup Battlefield is expanding. The tech ecosystem has grown exponentially in size and capabilities since the early days of Startup Battlefield, and it’s time we grew with it. That’s why we’re proud to announce MovieUpdates Startup Battlefield 200, a new era of our exciting community startup competition.
Presenting Global Founders
In October, MovieUpdates will host a curated cohort of 200 startups at TC Disrupt 2022. Competition will be fierce. When selected from the thousands of applications, startups receive full access to the show, exclusive workshops† education† advantages and free exhibition space on the show floor for all three days. All selected founders will have the chance to flash for investors and MovieUpdates Editors.
From the Startup Battlefield 200, 20 companies will be selected as Startup Battlefield finalists.
As always, the finalists will pitch on Disrupt’s main stage in front of the entire TC audience, receive personal pitch coaching, and be featured on MovieUpdates. The winner takes the $100,000 prize and all honour.
We want to be clear about some of the things that set Startup Battlefield apart from the, well, field.
Signing up and participating is 100% free.
As always, MovieUpdates does not require any shares from participants or the winner.
Individual companies can only exhibit one way at Disrupt: apply for MovieUpdates Startup Battlefield 200† The only way to become a Startup Battlefield finalist is to be selected for Startup Battlefield 200!
You must apply here. The deadline is July 31. Acceptances will be rolled out on July 1.
Why Expand Startup Battlefield?
Since the first TC50, the Startup Battlefield program has selected cohorts of approximately 20 startups for each event. The selected companies received special training, free exhibition space and the chance to pitch on the main stage of Disrupt for the prize of $100,000.
Its size made it an impossibly difficult task to winnow, and we passed on some incredibly exciting and highly investable companies that we would have loved to include. With this new program, more startups can join the Startup Battlefield program and still receive the benefits.
Yes, this means that if you are selected as part of the Startup Battlefield 200, you don’t have to pay to exhibit on the show floor at Disrupt†
Young companies trying to extend their seed round don’t have to pay to play to get in the room, they just need to have a great company and sign up now, here.
This feels more intense, more organic and more honest, all things we associate with MovieUpdates Startup Battlefield and, ideally, startup life. No more paying to play for individual founders.
